Warnings: This may be a little bit long. 3 pages in MS Word, size 11, so I think it's a little too long.
AN: This is a sequel to Why Yamada Ryosuke Prefers Hey!Say!JUMP Over NYC. But because I made it so long, this one shot can stand along with having to read the other one.
Chinen Yuri is a healthy and normal 16-year old boy (no, don’t get into about his height) who just loves the fact that he’s cuter than the normal 16-year old male. And he uses that to the fullest extent, without being guilty.
Other than being a healthy and normal 16-year old boy (again, let’s not talk about his height) who is cuter than the average male, he is a member of 2 still existing groups: Hey!Say!JUMP and NYC. He works for JE and he admires Ohno Satoshi like a LOT. And oh! Let’s not forget that he loves teasing his bestfriend.
Chinen Yuri is not in-denial like his bestfriend because he knows and accepts that he’s in love with the said friend. Him, being the confident healthy and normal 16-year old boy (let’s not mention the height problem) who is cuter than the average male, knows that his bestfriend feels the same way. Somehow, the bestfriend still just think that it’s only about friends. So, Chinen Yuri just needs to open his bestfriend’s eye more.
Although that task alone is a hella lot of work.
Why, you may ask?
Because Chinen Yuri’s bestfriend is none other than the great Yamada Ryosuke who loves and cares for everyone as if they’re all his pet (but the bestfriend says he wants Chinen as a pet).
Chinen Yuri braced himself in the battle he was approaching, no, he’s not going to confess. He knows he’s a fail when it comes to things like that so he just plans on letting his bestfriend realize that he likes him. And then, the bestfriend will confess to him and they will be all rabu rabu!
As if, as we have mentioned before, Chinen Yuri’s bestfriend is Yamada Ryosuke so he already knows that this is a hard case.
So Chinen Yuri finds a way to let everyone knows that Yamada Ryosuke is indeed his, which is not much of a problem considering no one in JUMP is stupid. They all understood the mutual feelings of the bestfriends Yamada and Chinen, although the former is still unaware of that feeling. That will soon change, anyway, since Chinen is confident of his plan.
Anyway, enough rambling and let us hear the great Chinen Yuri’s plan. It’s…ten ten ten ten ten… Plan: Make-Yamada-Ryosuke-Jealous-Of-Nakayama-Y
If you people are wondering why Chinen Yuri is going to use Nakayama Yuma of NYC when he could just use anyone from the remaining 8 members of JUMP that’s because it’s not really of any use. Since even before, Chinen already plays with the other members, so this won’t have any big impact he need. So, because the great Chinen is a genius, he thought that a new person would be of great help.
And that’s where Yuma-kun appears!
Of course, Yuma-kun already knows the mutual feelings of YC, and he knows that Y is a hard case, so he agreed to help C make Y jealous although he knows the risks of it (risks of being murdered by YamaChii’s numerous fans, but hey, this is Chinen’s idea after all).
And the genius was right when he thought that his bestfriend is a hard case.
The Chinen Yuri gets all that he needs to make his bestfriend realize that he loves him. But ah, as he had guessed, it was not an easy task. He tried the play with Yuma-kun more than Yama-chan, like putting his arms around the other and such. He even tried irritating the bestfriend by waking him up (and stopped the urge to just kiss him). But no, the bestfriend just went back to sleep as if nothing had happened.
Chinen Yuri even tried to make Yama-chan lonely during performance by sticking close to Yuma-kun and leaving Yama-chan alone. But that was unsuccessful since Yama-chan found the B.I. Shadows’ presence cheerful and the fact that he still has that choco-coated-strawberry smile plastered on his face.
So, since those are unsuccessful, he had wanted to give up. The jacket photoshoot of their song 100% Yuuki was being shot and they have a small break so he turned to talk to Yuma-kun loudly, ignoring the bestfriend who was calling onto him.
“Chinen! Chinen!” Chinen busied himself even more by talking even loudly, “He’s not listening. Chinen! Chinen!” And the ignoring continued.
That’s what made the bestfriend realize something. No, not the one Chinen wanted the bestfriend to realize, but it was an improvement.
That night, Chinen went to Yama-chan’s house for a sleep-over (since the exams are nearing and the bestfriend still doesn’t study, so it’s not really a sleep-over but a tutoring session). They were studying geography and Chinen was hyperly explaining the location of such and such when he noticed that the bestfriend was staring into space.
“Ryosuke, I know you hate studying geography but could you at least listen to me? I’m just wasting my efforts, with you ignoring me like that.” Chinen pouted, poking his bestfriend’s cheek.
“Hey Chinen, what do you like more, JUMP or NYC?” Yamada suddenly asked, out of the blue (not really out of the blue, because the bestfriend has been thinking about this since the start, but of course Chinen doesn’t know about that).
“Why so sudden, Yama-chan?” Chinen was surprised after all, since he hasn’t given it that much thought.
Yamada thought for a second, “I have been wondering about it, so I want to know which you prefer more.”
Chinen smiled brightly, “I like both just the same.”
This was Yamada’s turn to pout, “But, there must be a group you like more!”
“But I like the both of them, what can I do about it?” Chinen opened the books once again, “Now, we should go back to the lesson on hand.”
Yamada closed the book, “You like NYC better, right? What does NYC have that JUMP doesn’t? Why can’t you choose JUMP? Is it because JUMP has no Yuma-kun? Is that it?”
Chinen raised an eyebrow at him, “Ryosuke, what has gotten into you? Of course I love JUMP the same way I love NYC, they’re the same. And no, why would I like NYC better than JUMP just ‘cause Yuma-kun is in it?” The perfect acting, since Chinen already knew where this was going. Ah, being a genius is great!
Yamada closed his eyes in frustration.
Chinen smiled slyly and went near the older one to whisper something in his ear, “Do you wanna know why I like JUMP and NYC just the same when they have so much difference?”
Yamada opened his eyes, uncomfortable of the feeling but wanting to answer just the same. “Why?”
“Can’t you think of the one, the only one similarity of JUMP and NYC?” Chinen asked, hoping he doesn’t have to spell it out.
Yamada thought for a second but could only come up with one word, “None.”
Chinen sighed and Yamada shuddered at the feeling, “I was hoping I don’t have to spell it out to you. Ryosuke, that’s the reason.” And he went back to his old position, hovering over the books, flipping through the pages.
“Ryosuke?” Yamada bolted out of the trance and sat again, straighter this time. “What do you mean?”
Chinen sent a death glare at Yamada’s direction and the bestfriend shuddered in fear this time. “Sometimes, Yama-chan can be so stupid.”
“I know, so just tell me.”
Chinen shook his head, knowing his plan was such a waste because it seemed that he still will be the one confessing to his bestfriend (who he just wants to smack the head). “I like JUMP and NYC just the same because Ryosuke is members with me on both group.”
At first Yamada contemplated but in the end, he just smiled at the youngest one. “Thanks Chii, I thought I would lose my bestfriend to Yuma-kun. Now, let’s go back to studying, or maybe not.”
Chinen sighed in frustration, his efforts wasted. He may not really be a genius if his confession was not seen directly by Yama-chan.
Someday, though, someday, he will get his feelings across. Even if it meant taking forever, or not.
“Uh, Chinen? I just want to tell you that you should stop hanging around Yuma-kun and spend some time with me too, just so you know.” Yamada said, a little louder than a whisper.
With this, Chinen smiled, knowing he doesn't really have to wait forever.
